Taxonomy
Cretacoenagrion alleni was named by Jarzembowski (1990). Its type specimen is BMB 014884-5, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Clockhouse Brickworks (BMB collection), which is in a Hauterivian lagoonal sandstone in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
