Bispinitia was named by Abushik (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl D l Sepkoski's reference number: 85]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Bispinitidae.
It was assigned to Leperditiidae by Vannier et al. (2001); to Leperditicopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bispinitidae by Liebau (2005).
