Taxonomy
Megadolodus was named by McKenna (1956). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Megadolodus molariformis.

It was assigned to Didolodontidae by McKenna (1956) and Cifelli (1983); and to Megadolodinae by Cifelli and Villarroel (1997).
