Amblypterus decorus
Taxonomy
Palaeoniscus decorus was named by Egerton (1850). Its type specimen is BMNH P.607, P.3420, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Commentry (BMNH coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic mudstone in the Commentry Shales Formation of France. It is the type species of Paramblypterus.
It was recombined as Amblypterus decorus by Woodward (1891); it was recombined as Paramblypterus decorus by Blot (1966).
