Taxonomy
Pisirhynchia was named by Buckman (1917) [Sepkoski's age data: J Sine J Plie-u Sepkoski's reference number: 55]. Its type is Pisirhynchia pisoides.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Norellinae by Williams et al. (2002).
