Taxonomy
Dataiphis coniferis was named by Lin (1995). Its type specimen is NIGP 123516, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dataizi village, Shenyuhe town, Huating County, which is in a Valanginian/Hauterivian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Luohandong Formation of China.
