Phylloptychoceras sipho
Taxonomy
Ptychoceras sipho was named by Forbes (1846). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pondicherry, which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone/claystone in the Valudavur Formation of India. It is the type species of Phylloptychoceras.
It was recombined as Phylloptychoceras sipho by Spath (1953), Kennedy and Henderson (1992), Ward and Kennedy (1993).
