Taxonomy
Synbathocrinus was named by Phillips (1836) [Sepkoski's age data: D m P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Synbathocrinidae.

It was assigned to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Synbathocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978), Webster and Lane (1987), Webster (1987), Webster et al. (2009), Mao et al. (2018), Webster et al. (2025).
