Taxonomy
Triadocidaris was named by Döderlein (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 801]. It is the type genus of Triadocidaridae.

It was assigned to Miocidaridae by Fell (1966); to Cidaroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Triadocidaridae by Smith (1994) and Jaselli and Pieroni (2023).
