Taxonomy
Lupocyclus karasawai was named by Collins et al. (2003). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 259, Airport road, Sandakan, which is in a Tortonian offshore siliciclastic in the Sandakan Formation of Malaysia.
It was recombined as Saratunus karasawai by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
