Taxonomy
Parallelodon carsulanus was named by Conti and Monari (1986). It is not extant. Its type locality is Bivio Macerino (dike A) , which is in an Aalenian marine carbonate/carbonate in Italy.

It was recombined as Catella carsulana by Monari (1994).
