Taxonomy
Cretalamna ewelli was named by Siversson et al. (2015). Its type specimen is FHSM VP-18510, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trego County, which is in a Coniacian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.
