Taxonomy
Acocephalus curtulus was named by Heer (1853). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.
It was recombined as Aphrodes curtulus by Metcalf and Wade (1966).
