Taxonomy
Mioclaenus corrugatus was named by Cope (1883).

It was recombined as Claenodon corrugatus by Scott (1892), Matthew (1897), Hay (1902), Gidley (1919), Hay (1930) and Matthew (1937); it was synonymized subjectively with Claenodon ferox by Simpson (1937) and Van Valen (1963); it was synonymized subjectively with Arctocyon ferox by Archibald et al. (1987); it was recombined as Arctocyon corrugatus by Kondrashov and Lucas (2004) and Scott et al. (2006).
