Heteropelta boboi was named by Dalla Vecchia (2021). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MFSN 46485 (Partial armour). Its type locality is Aupa Valley near Saps village, which is in an Anisian terrestrial horizon in the Torbiditi d’Aupa Formation of Italy.
