Taxonomy
Diacodon bacchanalis was named by McGrew et al. (1959) [in McGrew et al.]. Its type locality is Hyopsodus Hill, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Centetodon bacchanalis by McKenna et al. (1962), Gazin (1976), Lillegraven et al. (1981).
