Taxonomy
Vulpes rooki was named by Bartolini Lucenti (2021). It is not extant. Its type specimen is F:AM 97027, a partial skull. Its type locality is Xiakou, Yushe Basin, which is in a Pliocene terrestrial horizon in China.
