Taxonomy
Trinucleus nudus was named by Murchison (1839). Its type specimen is GSM 6835 (lectotype), a cephalothorax, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Ampyx nudus by Forbes (1849); it was recombined as Cnemidopyge nuda by Whittard (1955).
