Taxonomy
Burlingia angusta was named by Ebbestad and Budd (2002). Its type specimen is PMO 167.853 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Slemmestad, which is in a Menevian marine shale in the Alum Shale Formation of Norway.
