Taxonomy
Triplopus cubitalis was named by Cope (1880) [genotype; possibly not original combination]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Washakie B (Lower), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Washakie Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Triplopus.
