Ceratodus guentheri
Taxonomy
Ceratodus guentheri was named by Marsh (1878) [Original spelling "güntheri."]. Its type specimen is Yale Peabody Museum no. 205, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Felch Quarry 1, Garden Park, which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian channel sandstone/claystone in the Morrison Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Ptychoceratodus guentheri by Martin (1982).
