Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
E. L. Yochelson and L. M. Nuelle 1985 | Strongly compressed, lenticular open-coiled gastropods. Early growth stages unknown, but possibly consisting of several closely coiled whorls before developing open coiling. Body whorl wide and very
compressed. Whorl profile of body whorl bilaterally symmetrical, lanceolate; dorsum narrow and almost knifelike in cross section; inner margin relatively sharp, but whorl expanding rapidly and in a step-like manner a short distance inward from margin, then curving outward uniformly to periphery located about a quarter of distance between inner margin and dorsum. Growth lines slightly curved for half of distance of lateral slopes before curving strongly and backwards toward dorsum. |
