Taxonomy
Lyria antarctica was named by Stilwell and Zinsmeister (1992). Its type specimen is USNM 441789 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is La Meseta Fm Telm 2, which is in a Ypresian coastal sandstone/claystone in the La Meseta Formation of Antarctica.
