Lyria (Lyria) incomperta was named by Hoerle and Vokes (1978) [TYPE LOCALITY: Gurabo Fm, Rio Gurabo, Dominican Republic. TYPE REPOSITORY: USNM, Washington.]. Its type specimen is USNM 253221 and is not a trace fossil.
