L. W. Ward and B. W. Blackwelder 1975hesapecten nefrens is a large Chesapecten with large gapes between disk flanks and along the ventral commissure, nonuniform scabrous lirae, a pronounced byssal notch, unflattened ribs, and an only slightly convex right valve.
