Taxonomy
Rissoa compacta was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 4338, a shell.

It was recombined as Alvania compacta by Valentine and Meade (1961); it was recombined as Alvinia compacta by Marincovich (1976); it was recombined as Actonia compacta by Hendy (2021).

  • Rissoa acutelirata was named by Carpenter (1864). It is extant.

    It was recombined as Alvania acutelirata by Woodring et al. (1946); it was recombined as Alvania acutilirata by Chace (1966); it was synonymized subjectively with Actonia compacta by Hendy (2020).
