Taxonomy

Arca veatchi was named by Olsson (1922). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is PRI Loc. 816, Luculo River [Quimbriz Fm], which is in a Lutetian marine sandstone/shale in the Quimbriz Formation of Angola.

It was recombined as Arca (Scapharca) veatchi by Anderson (1929), Barrios (1960) and Jung (1965); it was recombined as Anadara (Tosarca) veatchi by Perrilliat (1992).
