Taxonomy
Haploceras strettostoma was named by Uhlig (1883). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Svinita, which is in a Barremian/Aptian marine horizon in Romania.

It was recombined as Desmoceras (Barremites) strettostoma by Vialli (1949); it was recombined as Barremites strettostoma by Avram (1978); it was recombined as Barremitites strettostoma by Avram (1997) and Vasicek et al. (2013).
