Taxonomy
Ammonites reuttensis was named by Beyrich (1867). It is the type species of Beyrichites.

It was recombined as Meekoceras reuttense by von Mojsisovics (1882); it was recombined as Beyrichites reuttensis by Diener (1907), Spath (1934), Kummel (1969) and Vörös (2018).
