Taxonomy
Christitys delta was named by Popenoe and Saul (1987). Its type specimen is UCLA 39455, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4209, Clover Creek, which is in a Coniacian marine horizon in the Redding Formation of California.
