Taxonomy
Acrocephalites lataegenae was named by Wilson (1949). Its type specimen is CW- 35, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 42-13w.6, which is in a Furongian marine limestone in the Wilberns Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Cliffia lataegenae by Hohensee and Stitt (1989) and Taylor et al. (1999).
