Taxonomy
Cubitostrea primordialis was named by Griffin et al. (2005). Its type specimen is GHUNLPam 17157, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Liu Malal 1, which is in a Danian offshore siltstone in the Jagüel Formation of Argentina.
