Orthisina umbraculum multistriata was named by Meek and Hayden (1859).

It was recombined as Derbya multistriata by Lee et al. (1938); it was recombined as Orthisina multistriata by Carter and Carter (1970); it was recombined as Derbyia multistriata by Meek and Hayden (1864), Dunbar and Condra (1932) and Ortowski (1989).
