Taxonomy
Donax wiedenmayeri was named by Hodson and Hodson (1931). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Codore, 5.4 km N of Urumaco [Urumaco Fm], which is in a Miocene marine siltstone in the Urumaco Formation of Venezuela.
