Taxonomy
Elliptophillipsia rotundus was named by Brezinski (2000). Its type specimen is CM 45118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Easley, Boone County, Chouteau Group, Compton Limestone, which is in a Kinderhookian offshore shelf lime mudstone/wackestone in the Compton Limestone Formation of Missouri.
