Taxonomy
Orthis remnicha was named by Winchell (1886). It is the type species of Eoorthis.

It was recombined as Orthis (Plectorthis) remnicha by Walcott (1905); it was recombined as Eoorthis remnicha by Walcott (1908), Henningsmoen (1958) and Freeman and Stitt (1996).
