Taxonomy
Globigerina cerroazulensis was named by Cole (1928). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Globorotalia (Turborotalia) cerroazulensis by Blow (1979); it was recombined as Globorotalia cerroazulensis by Pujol (1983); it was recombined as Turborotalia cerroazulensis by Poore and Bybell (1988) and Pearson et al. (2006).

  • Globorotalia centralis was named by Cushman and Bermúdez (1937). It is a 3D body fossil.

    It was recombined as Globorotalia (Turborotalia) centralis by Cushman and Bermúdez (1949); it was recombined as Acarinina centralis by Subbotina (1953); it was recombined as Turborotalia centralis by Hagn (1956); it was synonymized subjectively with Turborotalia cerroazulensis by Pearson et al. (2006).
