Homalonotus fugitivus was named by Tromelin (1877). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Iberocoryphe fugitivus by Tromelin (1877) and Henry (1980); it was misspelled as Iberocoryphe fugitiva by GutiƩrrez-Marco and Babin (1999).
