Taxonomy
Silesites nepos was named by Douvillé (1916). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gebel Oum Rekeba, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Egypt.

It was recombined as Neosilesites nepos by Szives (2007).
