Taxonomy
Bairdia guadalupiana was named by Hamilton (1942). Its type specimen is Wisconsin Univ 22375 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM703c, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian slope limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Orthobairdia guadalupiana by Mette (2010).
