Taxonomy
Paramegalodus prolatus was named by Allasinaz (1977). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Travenanzes, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Dolomia Principale, which is in a Norian shallow subtidal dolomite in the Dolomia Principale Formation of Italy.
