T. J. Frest et al. 1979Globulocystites with moderate- ly inflated theca; profile oval, cross section elongate oval. Arms unequal, right arm fails to reach column; arm calluses narrow, not strongly protrusive. Basic thecal plates: P1- P9, A1-A7, A8a, b, A9a, b, R2-5, L1-L3, PB, AB and RB. Intercalates numerous, somewhat variable in number, average about fifteen. Ornament consists of numerous fine irregularly scattered granules
R. L. Parsley 1982Platycystites with compressed theca, thecal plates above periproct produced into narrow ridge, posterior face of ridge (plates A5, R2) often slightly concave. Anterior right side of theca with reduced number of intercalaries. Left arm usually extending to basals, right arm shorter, rarely extending beyond R5.
