Ammonites semisulcatus was named by d'Orbigny (1842) [DISTRIBUTION: Valanginian; Europe, Greenland.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ptychophylloceras semisulcatum by Reboulet (1996); it was recombined as Phylloceras semisulcatum by Alsen (2006).
