Taxonomy
Rachiosoma hondoensis was named by Cooke (1953). Its type specimen is USNM 108371 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 7686, Hondo Creek, which is in a Maastrichtian estuary/bay sandstone in the Escondido Formation of Texas.
