Taxonomy
Strophomena arctostriata was named by Hall (1843). Its type specimen is AMNH 30605, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Streptorhynchus chemungensis arctostriata by Hall (1867); it was recombined as Orthothetes chemungensis arctostriata by Hall and Clarke (1892); it was recombined as Orthothetes chemungensis arctostriatus by Kindle (1900); it was recombined as Schuchertella arctostriata by Griesemer (1965); it was recombined as Eoschuchertella arctostriata by Linsley (1994); it was recombined as Floweria arctostriata by Stigall Rode (2005); it was recombined as Orthothetes arctostriatus by Wagner (2020).
