Taxonomy
Turris carlsoni was named by Anderson and Martin (1914). Its type specimen is CAS 212 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Priscofusus carlsoni by Stewart (1946); it was recombined as Searlesia carlsoni by Moore (1963).
