Taxonomy
Chione cryptolineata was named by Clark (1918). Its type specimen is UCMP 11178 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 1131, Walnut Creek, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in California.
It was recombined as Securella cryptolineata by Parker (1949).
