Taxonomy
Spencella utahensa was named by Sundberg (1994). Its type specimen is LACMIP 11975, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dugway Range, 36.40m, LACMIP 15536, which is in a Delamaran marine limestone in the Trailer Formation of Utah.
