Incertia incertissima

Taxonomy
Spirifer incertissimus was named by Godefroid et al. (2002). Its type specimen is MB.B. 258.2 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Incertia.

It was recombined as Incertia incertissima by Mittmeyer (2008) and Franke (2016).

Synonyms
  • Spirifer incertus was named by Spriestersbach and Fuchs (1909) [Fuchs in Spriestersbach & Fuchs 1909]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shanxiuling section, bed 9, Kaishantun, Yanji County, which is in an Asselian marine sandstone in the Shanxiuling Formation of China.

    It was recombined as Spinella incerta by Vandercammen (1963); it was recombined as Subcuspidella incerta by Mittmeyer (1972); it was replaced with Spirifer incertissimus by Godefroid et al. (2002).
