Trematoceras boreale was named by Schastlivceva (1986). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nonammonoid cephalopods of the Western Verkhoyansk Range, Kharaulakhsk Mountains, which is in an Olenekian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
